The State of Oahu

First Field Report to the Clandestine Library
Greetings Darling Pussycat!

I hope you enjoyed the gift I sent you. I didn't know your size but I figured you have pretty large paws, so I got the biggest boots I could find. Maybe next time you'll find a less annoying way to relay your desires. It's not as though I can't just start reading baseball averages again. We both know how much you love that.

As you will note in the more extensive files I sent along with this report, the island of Oahu is, as you suspected, a veritable hotbend of supernatural shenanigans. My arrival here was not an auspicious one, having been waylaid from signing my lease by the undead, and a stay in the hospital. I've since found housing in a rather interesting hostel, and yes I am using the funds sent for housing to pay for that. It's the proper thing to do. The number of liminals in the area is quite large, and my report details those encounters and what I've learned via Library methods about various individuals. Some have since been approached and the offer has been made. I really wish you'd let me reword that, I sound like a doofus when I announce all that stuff.

Since leaving the hospital my forays into the supernatural community at large have gone a good deal better. I've made contact with numerous individuals of note (See Appendix A), and have meet with the more... unfortunate element of same on the island. As you requested, what information I have on the three women attempting to upset Pele has been sent as well, scanty as it is. Numerous ghosts and undead seem to exist on the island, to some degree of danger or another. There have been sightings of a creature known as an Aswang, from the Philippines, and since that time I can confirm that they do in fact exist and they are in fact disgusting. I'm sure you would have enjoyed swatting one around, had you been there. I must regretfully inform you that there is a definitive demonic presence on the island, and while I have come across and helped get rid of it twice, I'm sure you know what that means. The bastards are like ants, so there will be plenty more to deal with.

One last note. I realize you would like to keep me alive as long as possible, and I do appreciate that. But please stop trying to shift me over completely. I get enough looks as it is.

Yours in knowledge, Joachim
