Lola's Awakening

"What is your problem?" Nature looked towards Cause, her attention drawn from the art project she was overseeing. Accident continued to happily hum as she worked on it, regardless of her sister's distraction.

Cause grunted. She sat a distance away, arms crossed, watching her sisters as she was want to do. "Watching," she responds.

"Why? Come closer, we won't bite," Nature responds, eyeing her sister thoughtfully.

"I can see you both from here," Cause answers. A beat before she adds, "I don't need to come closer."

Nature sighed, shaking her head slightly. "We have this opportunity and you don't wish to explore it? You might as well be sleeping."

Cause rumbles low in her throat. "I don't want to explore. I fight."

Nature shakes her head slightly and sighs, rising from her sit. A hand out to lightly stroke Accident's hair. She looks up, showing some concern as Nature approaches Cause. The red haired sister rises up, her stance firm. Her eyes narrowed. "Calm down," Nature says. "I want to talk to you. I want to.. Get through to you."

Cause releases a short bark of a laugh. "Fine, waste your time," she rumbles, glancing to the side as her arms cross. "You complain that we rely on you, hide behind you," Nature continues on, without letting her sister's attitude stop her. "But you cling to that aspect of yourself without seeming to want to do something else. Be something else."

"Like what? Some artist?" Cause glances at Accident with a faint scoff. Accident looked up with a little frown, seeming to anticipate her sister's scorn. "Be nice," she murmured in her high voice.

Cause scoffed again and Nature shook her head. "Listen, sister." Cause's attention returned to her, but her bad attitude lingered. "I'm not trying to change you.."

Cause interrupted her with a bark of a laugh. "The fuck you're not. You hate me, I know it. You want me to be who I'm not. Don't fucking lie!"

Nature sighed, stepping forward, reaching out to grip Cause's shoulders. Cause stiffened, ana gressive tension flowing through her. Nature did not retreat, looking Cause in the eyes. Moments passed with no movement between the two, eyes locked. Accident watched, a soft breath held. Slowly, Cause lost some of her tension. Her raised state of caution fading to simple discomfort with the closeness.

At that time, Nature spoke. Slowly and directly. "I don't want to change you. I love who you are. Your fury and bloodlust is who you are." She glances towards Accident. "Just as your sweetness is who you are." Accident smiled widely, pleased. Nature looked back to Cause. You will be who you want to be. Just as we will. But we have a moment to look at who we are. To see if there is more than just what we are now."

Cause was openly skeptical of her sister's words, but that didn't stop Nature. "Maybe you won't like art. Maybe you will. You won't know until you try, will you? And I will ask you to do something for me. Show me how you fight." This surprised Cause, her face scrunching up in silent confusion.

Nature grinned, quite happy to continue speaking and explain herself. "I know how you fight in a way.. we share knowledge, experiences. But I've never.. done it. This is not a real place, but it feels real enough. I want you to teach me. Maybe I will find that getting my hands dirty is not as bad as it."

Cause was left to study Nature intently. Mistrustful, yet she could not deny the connection between them. It allowed her to be certain of one thing. Nature was being earnest in this moment. After some moments she slowly nodded her head. Slowly accepting.

Nature smiled. "But before that, you should come with us. Sit with your sisters. Even if you decide not to paint. Let us be together, as we were meant to be."

Nature's hands drop, but one takes one of Cause's hands, drawing her slowly towards where Accident waits the three are soon sitting in a circle about the art. Cause did eventually dip her fingers into the paint once or twice. It was.. Interesting to her. Even if she didn't admit to it.
