Conditions List

Here you will find a list of the Conditions used at Tenebrous Isles along with a description of what they're used for.

Changeling

Called: Mark one of this condition’s five boxes to use your PC's Fae Heritage power for a whole scene. When all five are filled, you have three options:
  • Make the Choice to become fully Fae by using another Fae power. This will result in your PC becoming an NPC as True Fae are not an available PC template.
  • Deliberately shun your Fae Powers. You clear out the boxes at a rate of one per 2 weeks IRL. This means that you can go from having a full Called track to an empty one in 10 weeks, provided you do not use your powers in that time frame.
  • Choose to become fully mortal to immediately clear the track. You may no longer use your Fae powers, and you revert fully to a Pure Mortal Mantle after the scene.

Emissary of Power

Borrowed Power: Mark one of this condition’s five boxes to use your PC's Entity/God/Ruler-given power for a whole scene. Each box clears due to specific requirements:
  • You can clear out the boxes at a rate of one per 2 days IRL. This means that you can go from having a full Borrowed Power track to an empty one in 10 days, provided you do not use your borrowed powers in that time frame.
  • Perform a task specifically at the behest of the one that granted you the power. Level 1 boxes require a Mundane task, Level 2 boxes require a Supernatural task, Level 3 boxes require an Otherworldly task, Level 4 boxes require a Legendary task, and Level 5 boxes require a Godlike task.
  • Choose to become fully mortal to immediately clear the track. At any time you may choose to leave the pact with the Entity that gave your powers to you, and you revert fully to a Pure Mortal Mantle after the scene.

Faithful

Crisis of Faith: Check this condition if you significantly violate the tenets of your faith or misuse the power granted you. While this condition is marked, the On a Mission From God Condition and all Powers of this mantle are unavailable. Recover this condition after performing appropriate penance, per the GM.

Magic Users

No conditions exist specifically for Magic Users.

Pure Mortal

No conditions exist specifically for Pure Mortals.

Red Court Infectee

Hungry: Mark one of this condition’s five boxes to power your Vampiric Powers. Each time you use a Vampiric Power in scene, you mark one box per power, per use. If you are taken out while Hungry, the consequences could be dire: the GM may determine that you embark on a feeding frenzy, killing nearby mortals but clearing the Hungry track immediately.

To otherwise clear Hungry, you must feed on someone’s blood: establish an advantage on your target (e.g., Grappled), and then make a successful attack. The subsequent feeding has two possible degrees of intensity:

  • Your victim takes a condition representing physical harm. Clear two boxes for a sticky condition, four for a lasting one.
  • Your victim dies. Clear the Hungry track entirely. If you are a Red Court Infectee, this also counts as your necessary Kill to become a full Red Court Vampire and subsequently your PC becomes an NPC.

Scion

Called: Mark one of this condition’s five boxes to use your PC's Supernatural Heritage power for a whole scene. When all five are filled, you have three options:
  • Make the Choice to become fully your Parent Supernatural Creature by using another Supernatural power. This will result in your PC becoming an NPC as full Supernatural Creatures are not an available PC template.
  • Deliberately shun your Supernatural Powers. You clear out the boxes at a rate of one per 2 weeks IRL. This means that you can go from having a full Called track to an empty one in 10 weeks, provided you do not use your powers in that time frame.
  • Choose to become fully mortal to immediately clear the track. You may no longer use your Supernatural powers, and you revert fully to a Pure Mortal Mantle after the scene.

Shapeshifter and Werecreature

Physical Transformation: Mark this condition when changing into your animal form. Clothing and belongings on your person do not change with you. It takes 2 weeks IRL to recover from checking this condition. (The Power Fleeting Transformation can change this reduce the recovery from this Condition to being only 24 hours.) While this condition is checked, the following applies:
  • Take the Form of the [Animal] aspect in addition to your other aspects.
  • If you have purchased the Skill Shuffle power, your skills ratings may change.

White Courtier

 Vampires Only:

Burned by True Emotion: In any scene where you are directly touched by someone displaying a pure, incorruptible, positive emotion, you must accept this condition (which absorbs no shifts from an attack) in addition to other consequences you take on. This display must go above and beyond the norm to qualify—someone standing up to you isn’t displaying True Courage unless they’re doing so in the face of guaranteed doom. The emotion that burns you is directly related to what you feed on—True Love for Raith, True Courage for Malvora, and True Hope for Skavis.

While you are Burned by True Emotion, you may not recover from any other consequences reflecting physical injury. Recovery from this condition requires 2 weeks IRL.

 Both Vampires and Virgins:

Vampire Heritage: You are a member of a White Court family, and thus this condition is always marked. Select one of the known hungers and its associated house (lust for House Raith, fear for House Malvora, despair for House Skavis).
