He is the male half of the equation and is supported in equal measure by his wife Jo.
If there is a situation involving questionable actions by a magic user in Hawaii, Shep is usually the first to deal with it.
If both wardens darken your doorstep, it's easy to infer that the situation could be quite serious indeed.
