Apparently sharks like hot springs as well...

Location

Wahiawa Hot Springs, Central Oahu

Plot(s)

Plot:Land Shark!

Morning light came with a gentle breeze that seemed to stir up the scents of Hawaiian flowers and the thick, rich, smell of sap from the Koa trees. It was entirely one of those days when people enjoyed a lazy mai tai by the pool, watching the even lazier clouds drift overhead in their perfect, puffy, whiteness.

For those less interested in lazing about by the pool, the attractions of the Island had drawn them off in search of adventure, and for a few, that adventure had led them well and deep into the Wahiawa Botanical Garden, to the nearly hidden hot springs and water falls. There weren't many that had ventured out this far this early in the morning, so the place was still pretty serene, and seemed almost untouched by humanity, just waiting for people to find it and enjoy all it had to offer.

Conni and Sylvi have set out early to get a good spot at the springs, both of them decked out for a lazy day lounging away in the water. Conni who is usually averse to the sun has a lot of skin on show today, she is cut-off denim shorts and a matching blue bikini. She has her her done up in a pony-tail, not seeing much point in going to a fuss if she's just going to get her hair wet anyway. She has a bag over one shoulder, no doubt the essential supplies to go with a day of soaking in the sun and the scent of coconut oil that follows her around would suggest that her gleaming skin is a result of all the sun-block she is wearing. She has a beach towel under one arm and a bottle of water in her hand, idly making chatter with Sylvi as they thread their way along the footpaths.

Sylvi had dressed for a bit of an excursion, wearing a little something over her bikini in the form of cut off denim shorts that really didn't cover much of anything extra, but would at least keep her bikini from getting ruined while she and Conni made their way to the hot springs. Aside from the shorts, Sylvi's rather trim, muscular body was covered only in a bikini top that was the color of soft, ice blue and barely managed to keep the ample mounds of her breasts fully in check, but at least she was decent, right? In a bit of juxtaposition to the sparse clothing, she did have on a pair of hiking boots and some thick socks, it was a long walk after all. The thick, heavy length of her blonde hair is pulled back into a tight French braid to keep it easily manageable during their likely full day at the hot springs, and also to keep it out of the way of the straps of her fairly laden backpack. Tied to the bottom of her backpack is a bag of ice, allowed to drip as it slowly melted behind her like a trail, and at the top there was a rolled up, fireball red bathing towel. "So I said, you know, let's keep this thing on full auto. And he laughed, told me that even big girls couldn't handle it. So I proceeded to kill all of the targets. He was so mad, because I literally must have blown through 300 rounds before he got me to stop shooting. But it was so freaking fun, even if I'm not allowed to go back to that arcade anymore." Sylvi shrugged. "At least it was in Oslo, not here."

Joachim's track record with the Botanical Gardens wasn't... the best. But! Upon hearing of a hidden hot spring spot from a friend of a friend, he hadn't hesitated to head out again. It was early morning after all, and night going beasties weren't likely to show up. To that end he'd come dressed for the specific purpose, in a pair of bright orange shorts that left his toned calves bare, a pair of sandals and a tight fitting t-shirt that showed off his muscled torso to good effect. He walked with a jaunty step, a beach towel under one arm, a bag over his shoulder and a cooler in his hands. He grinned back at Iolana as he veritably skipped along. "I had no idea this was here. I've always wanted to go to a natural hot spring. But I've watched too much anime." He spotted two familiar figures, waving to the pair of blondes. "Conni! Sylvi! I see you had the same idea." He held up his cooler, eyebrows waggling. "How've you been?

Iolana needs little coaxing to go to the gardens, unlike her roomie Joachim she LOVES the gardens. One of the few genuinely tranquil spots on the island. Well, for her anyway. The early morning big? THAT took a little more doing and she shuffles after Joachim, dark sunglasses covering her eyes and her hair sticking out at odd angles in the back suggesing she's not seen a mirror today. She wears her usual BDUs and tanktop her ebony skin untouched by product. To others she offers an indistinct sound of acknowledgement.

It would be a little silly to walk around in anything other than shorts and some sort of short-sleeved shirt today, especially around here. So, that is what James is wearing -- shorts and a short-sleeved button up shirt. Neither of those things really suit him, though. He actually looks kind of uncomfortable, or at least awkward, and the rest of him doesn't project 'casual,' especially his expression. Of course, maybe he just has a bad case of RBF, or whatever the equivalent is for men. He's a bit behind the others, and since he didn't come with any of them, hasn't noticed any of them in particular quite yet, either.

"No, Eve... I'm asking you to send a rescue, because there is no way I'm walking back down a--." Heath prattled into his cellphone, "Tell them I ODed-- No, don't say that." The man growled into the phone, "No, sweetheart, I always sound fucking delicious and you know it-- Fine... Fine..." The man in a red and gold speedo and sunglasses that probably cost as much as a small car, as he laid on his chaise lounge chair. Thumbing at his phone, he sent a text, "Looking... Forward... To... Seeing... You... Smiley fucking face..." Reaching into the cooler next to him, his hand swept back and forth. "That's just wonderful." Picking up his flask, he shook it with a wince. "No frozen drinks, no scotch, no--" Moving his gear aside, he picked out a small vial and stared at it, "This is what happens when you let the help take a night off." Opening the vial, he stared tonguing at it and sucking air through his teeth. Staring at people the people showing up, Heath drew in a deep breath and frowned. Leaning his head back, he stared at the sky, taking a moment to absorb the world. "Well shit... I guess that would explain it."

Despite what might be a tough morning for some, the hot springs continued to fill the air with the sound of the water fall splashing into the water steadily. The place was serene, picture perfect, just waiting.

Conni lets out a laugh, shaking her head and wagging a finger at Sylvi. "This is why we can't have nice things! Of course, it sounds like it was worth it though." Slowing her pace a little, Conni points to a section near the waterfall. "Would down there be too noisy do you think?" Rolling her shoulders, Conni sets off a chain reaction in her backpack that results in heavy clinking from what can only be bottles contained within, a sizeable number too given the size of the bag. "I'm just looking forward to a good soak followed by a lot of lounging." Turning, she spots Joachim and offers him a friendly wave. "Aloha Joachim! Aloha Iolana!" Hearing someone grouching into their phone, Conni looks over and regards Heath for a moment, trying to place his face and finally getting it after a moment or two. "I remember him from the Hostel opening party, he was a very merry Santa." Grinning, she waves to him as well while still surveying for a spot to lounge in.

Sylvi grinned over to Conni, waggling her blonde brows. "It was well worth it. It served him right for treating me like I couldn't handle whatever it was he was handing me. Lost me a booty call, though. He was cute, too." Sylvi snickered and set down her backpack right next to Conni's, the sound of bottles clanking in hers as well, and perhaps cans. And perhaps something else. She opened up the top of the backpack to reveal it was lined in a plastic bag, thick and black. Before she even bothered to do anything else, she plucked up the bag of ice, ripped the top open with her teeth, and poured it into the backpack, filling the space around her carried in drinks with cooling agent. "I tell you what, though. I am going to relax the hell out of this place today. It's gonna be like a mission, without a statement." Sylvi's sing-song Norwegian accent sounded almost odd with the statements she was delivering, and she snickered softly, turning to greet the impending forms of Joachim and Iolana. Once the bag was empty, she lifted her arm overhead and waved. "God morgen, Joachim! I haven't run into you this early since I moved out of the hostel!" She turned her smile to Iolana and grinned to her as well. "God morgen to you, too!" Her attention was captured by Conni mentioning Heath, and naturally by the man's own conversation, and she turned her smile his direction. "God Morgen over there, everything alright?" Amusement colored her question as much as it might have been expected to. Now that the drinks were settled, Sylvi went about the next more important task of toeing off her shoes, removing her socks, and shimmying out of her trim, jean shorts, leaving herself in nothing but the ice blue bikini that contrasted rather well with the rich, honeyed tan she'd developed on Oahu. As James made his uncomfortable way up toward the hot springs, Sylvi looked up from where she was gathering her shorts to set them onto her boots and offered him a wide, cheery smile. "God morgen!"

"Aloha to you too!" Joachim grinned, falling into step nearby the others. He looked around, hearing a voice and wondering who else had shown up. As James came into view he regarded the other man for a moment, smiling and giving him a cheery nod. But that hadn't been him, the voice had been somewhat familiar. As they came across the source of it, Joachim chuckled. "Oh hey it is Santa." He gave the man a nod. "Aloha there Heath." He raised a brow at what he'd heard of the conversation, but couldn't make much heads or tails of it. He smiled brightly at Sylvi, nodding. "Yep! How's that working out? I did the same not long ago. How've you been?"

Iolana looks up at the mention of 'santa' and an eyebrow lifts from behind those dark sunglasses, "Well Santas got one potty mouth." She groans, "So many morning people..." She tosses out the contents of her coffee mug and insteads reches into a pocket for a little Irish start to her day.

James comes to a stop at a little way away from most of the others, sticking a hand into his pocket and taking in the view. It's a pretty amazing one, and it does soften that expression a little bit. He catches Sylvi's smile, and turns that way, returning it with one of his own that looks genuine, if a little bit more stilted than hers. Joachim gets one too, as well as a nod, and whoever else happens to look his way. When it fades as he turns back to the pool, though, the expression slips back into 'slightly annoyed.' Yep, definitely RBF.

Heath continued to stare up at the sky, finally shaking his head slowly as he scanned the hot spring. His eyes settling on Conni and Sylvi. "My dear bikini-clad faux-angels! I hear the chimes of ambrosia. Would you be willing to part with a couple of your beverages for a hundred dollars? I'd offer pixie dust, but it appears the Pan has skipped out with it." Pushing over his pack, he picked out his wallet and show off the Benjamin. "Call it hair of the dog, I'm cool with it."

Everything looks continually serene, the deep hot springs and waterfalls just begging for someone to spoil them by getting in.

Having decided on a place, Conni shrugs out of her back pack and then carefully lays it on the ground, leaving it closed for the moment though. Following in Sylvi's example, she slips off her boot and socks, bundling the socks up into the boots when she's finished. She then peels off her denim shorts, revealing a sky-blue bikini. Conni's tan is far lighter than Sylvi's but it is there, something about Conni's habit of staying indoors not helping matters. Setting her shorts down near her shoes, she unwraps her towel and then carefully spreads it on the ground. Looking over to Sylvi, she grins. "A mission, yes. Absolutely!" She nods approvingly as the beer is taken care of, not indulging just yet as she still has a bottle of water. Hearing Heath's call, she looks over and smiles. "I don't think we'd charge that much. I couldn't possibly charge Santa after all. I seem to recall you helping me out with beer when I was in need." She guestures to Sylvi's open pack and then looks over to her friend. "What do you think? He does look like he is in dire need. It would fall into mission parameters I think."

Sylvi's smile broadened as she nodded to Joachim and Iolana. "It's been good, I like the privacy." Sylvi winked to them. "Being able to sunbathe nude without a horde of surprised homeless and teenagers is a bonus." She looked at Conni then and clicked her tongue thoughtfully at the back of her teeth. "Well, if he's helped you out before, I don't see the harm. And I think it's a bit of a highway robbery if we let him give us his hundred dollars for something that didn't cost nearly so much." She winked to Conni before turning her head to Heath. "It's still going to be a touch warm from the walk, but you're welcome to come and help yourself to some of the beer, if you like. I've got bottles of water in there, too, and a few cans of Guiness because I liked the cans..." Sylvi snickered at herself, then looked up at James, offering him a wider smile. "Are you swimming?" She made no bones about the fact that she was assessing the man, and then motioned into the hot springs. "I'm pretty sure that the siren's song is calling to me." Looking over at Conni, Sylvi waggled her brows. "Finishing the water before you get in?" And with that.. Sylvi turned, took the couple of steps necessary to get to the edge of the pool, and leapt into the water as a streak of ice blue and blonde before she submerged. It wasn't a dive, it was definitely a foot first jump, and the splash was good since the shelf at the side was a goot 6 feet up.

Joachim set the cooler down near the water's edge, and his bag next to it, unrolling the small blanket nearby. He looked to Conni and Sylvi, chuckling at Heath's request. "Man... how long have you been stuck here?" Chuckling, he slipped out of his sandals and pulled off his own shirt. His body was fit and muscular, his stomach rippling with muscle and marred only by a wide scar on his right side, healed long ago but still nasty looking. He turned to Iolana and chuckled. "Oh yeah. Heath has a way around words, that's for sure." He chuckled, watching James for a moment before opening the cooler and grabbing a beer. He nudged the container with his foot. "Well, hopefully between the lot of us Heath, we can get you properly rehydrated." He considered for a moment before heading down to the water, flopping down and resting his feet in.

Iolana notices James and nurses her flask, "Who's the brother?" she asides to Joachim since he's the people directory of this island. She eyes the water and those in it before wondering to Joachim, "You packed the bottle, right? Why'd this take getting up at the asscrack of dawn, man?"

Despite the nice view, James shakes his head at the question of going in. "Maybe in a little while," he calls to Sylvi before she jumps in. If he's not going to go in, one might wonder why he's even here? Well, one will just have to be left wondering. He looks around, finding an adequate place to sit down, and again he doesn't look all that comfortable sitting on the ground. He's far enough away that he doesn't catch Iolana's words, or he might have introduced himself....well, himself.

Heath's eyebrows arched over his sunglasses, and he put his foot over the side of his chair. Taking a deep breath, he strode his way over to the Sylvi's pack. "Lesson one. Never let the addict need the stash. Addiction is a monster with larges and endless hunger. Even if it says one or two, what it's thinking is how it can main line the whole fucking lot. So..." Wiggling his fingers, Heath plucked out two cans of Guinness and dropped the hundred in the bag. "Lesson Two. Never let yourself be in debt to anyone. Always pay for services rendered even when someone doesn't recognize it as a service." Cracking open the first Guinness, Heath drained the entire thing before continuing. Dropping the hundred and the empty next to bag. "Never trust a realtor who isn't hungry."

The sunlight shimmers off the water brilliantly as its surface is broken by not only the water fall, but incoming women and the legs of men.

Conni watches with a smile as Sylvi jumps into the water, seeming content to wait at the edge for now. She raises an eyebrow as Heath heads over and deposits his 100 dollar bill. "It sounds like you medically needed that and I don't think I've seen anyone drain a Guiness before." Still smiling, she turns her attention to the pool, watching for Sylvi and considering jumping in herself. She frowns then, leaning forward to squint at the water and then shaking her head, convincing herself that she must be confused. Then she sees something again and takes off at a run, launching herself into the air and coming into the water near Sylvi. The reason for her haste is rather adequately explained by the yell of "Shark!" as she's in mid-air, the reason for her jumping into the water with the shark is something best left to the Danes.

As Sylvi came to the surface of the water, she looked positively bemused. Turning around, she peered at the surface like there was something she should be able to see. Rubbing her hand on her face, she blinked water droplets from her eyelashes and called out softly. "Hey, do you guys have moccasins here?" Unsure who she expected to answer her, the Norwegian seemed befuddled as to what on earth had happened. "I think... I think there might be something in the water." She glanced up at the lip that she'd jumped off of, frowning. "Hey, where's Conni?" Still treading water, Sylvi simply turned in place, looking for the other tall blonde, and presumably looking to see if she could spot a snake slithering in the water toward her.

One moment, Sylvi's head is above water and she's looking around. The next, there's a sound of surprise, and then Sylvi is dragged under the water fully, her hands reaching up until even her fingers are submerged.

Joachim looked from Iolana to James. "Dunno." A grin spread across his face. "I have no idea! Ha! Ha ha ha!" He pointed at her. "That proves I don't know everyone!" He waved to James, grinning. "I don't know you! Thanks! I'm Joachim by the way." He paused. "Well... he was proof." He twiddled his feet in the water, making himself comfortable as he cracked open a bottle of beer. With a nod to Iolana, he tugged his bag over, pulling out said bottle and holding it up with a shrug. "I dunno. If we'd woken up later we might not be able to make that big pancake special?"

He looked to Heath, chuckling. "That reminds me..." He kicked his legs happily in the water, enjoying the relaxing sensation of the heat warming his legs. He heard Conni's yell, raising an eyebrow at her. "Aren't you supposed to yell cannonball?" He was still chuckling when Sylvi was dragged under, and left blinking. "Oh... shit seriously?" He looked to Iolana, frowning a bit before finally shrugging. With a wave to her he smile and slipped into the water, vanishing beneath the surface after Sylvi.

Iolana blinks and her eyes widen, "Ha! We found someone you don't know." She winces at Joachim's greeting and she herself keeps back from the water, settled on the grass. She blinks and scowls, "Oooh, no, /oooh/ *BOY* doooncha..." and then he slips into the water and she pushes upright, "Damnit, Chuckles!!" anxious and looking a bit helpless as she tries to peer into the water without getting too close to it.

James is looking at the water as Sylvie jumps in, and something he sees makes him squint. He's distracted when Joachim addresses him, glancing over there briefly with a raised eyebrow at the words. "Uh, you're welcome?" he replies, and gives a little wave, though the confusion at the origin of the other man's statement is evident. He might have said something more, but that's when Conni yells, and Sylvi gets pulled under the water. His head jerks back toward the pool as he takes a couple of quick steps to get closer, in an attempt to better see what's happening for himself before he jumps in or anything like that.

Heath tapped his chest a couple times and let out a bass belch. Raising an eyebrow as Conni races to dive into the water, screaming shark. Looking back down at his feet and container of beer. "I feel like someone didn't take lesson one to heart. That's a shame really." With a practiced motion, he cracked open the second beer and taking a drink. Eyeing Joachim from behind his sunglasses for a moment, Heath shrugged a shoulder. "I usually call over the staff so they deliver another drink. Even then, that's only with terrible staff." He took another drink, turning to stare at the water as one person after another jumped in.

Under the water, since she hadn't resurfaced yet, Conni would feel a very tight, sharp press against her lower leg as two very powerful, deadly jaws closed around it and proceeded to hold her down deeply enough that she can't resurface.

The surface of the water continues to shimmer with the reflection of the sun. No one seems to have surfaced after they've gone under so far. Bubbles rose, lots of them, in the vicinity of where Sylvi and Conni had gone under, less so where Joachim had gone under near the edge of the pool.

Conni struggles with what ever the hell is holding onto her, jabbing away with her fingers until she hits something soft and squishy. It's at this point normally that she'd let out a yell and do something flashy but being underwater has put something of a dampner on her usual exploits. Still, free from whatever was holding her, she scans around for Sylvi and then starts towards her.

Sylvi was struggling, to be sure, against the sensation of having a shark's jaws wrapped around her leg. She started off by kicking at its thick hide, screaming underwater, and it did little good. She jerked at her leg, and then, in a flash of inspiration, she shivered slightly as her wings came into their full material state and she opened them wide under the water, increasing the drag that the shark was working against. She was lucky, really, as it managed to jerk her free of the someone surprised shark's jaws enough that she got out of the hold and began moving to the surface. Of course, her wings gave her drag, too, so she was slow.

The shark that was attempting to get ahold of Sylvi continued to attack her, but this time instead of just trying to drag her down, it tried to take a bite. Luckily, the Valkyrie was able to get away with just a long scrape down her calf as the shark (Prina) didn't quite get her jaws closed fast enough to deliver a deep gash.

Joachim's head came back up out of the water mere moments later, dashing water from his eyes. He swore aloud, speaking in an ancient and long dead tongue. The space around his head seemed to warp slightly, eyes taking on an unnatural golden hue. With that, he dived back down, eyes open and hunting for a target.

Iolana asides To James, "I been Given Professor Chuckles here a hard time over how he seems to know everyone on the island." she rolls her eyes, "I didn't even have time to bust his chops for the only person he ain't met is a brother." She looks into the water, "I'm gonna kick his ass when he gets his nerdy ass out."

James might have laughed at what Iona has said -- because yes, it is funny -- but he's too focused on whatever is happening in the water. He can't get a good look, and so he mutters something under his breath that's hard to hear. It might have been a curse, but the cadence is off, and he quickly lifts a hand toward the pool as he says it. When he does, it's as though a switch has been thrown underwater, illuminating it from beneath.

As light illuminates the pool fully from the very floor of the hot springs, a strange scene is demonstrated. Sure, there's Joachim over near the edge, under the water and looking toward the middle area of the pool. A bit closer to the middle of the pool there's a confusion number of shapes that are lit up in bright relief. Two long, oblong creatures with tails that move from side to side are just near to human forms, though one of those human forms has huge wings spread out to either side of them. Both of the human forms seemed to be fighting against the underwater creatures, which looked rather disturbingly like sharks...

Heath watched as people started casting spells into the pool, and Heath just took another drink of his beer. Eyeing the shapes in the pool, he looked up at the water for a long moment. "It's official, Heath. No more bodies of water without wait staff." Killing his beer, Heath dropped it on the ground and marched over to the trees, testing one branch, then another for the right width and length. "Or I can start carrying a gun..." Jumping onto a branch, a branch cracked off. "Drugs, hookers and guns... My lawyer would have a heart attack."

The shark that had originally attempted to drag Conni down into the water seemed less than pleased when she got herself away, especially since she managed to punch it squarely in the eyeball. As it rolled backward, its tail swung hard toward Conni, delivering a hit along her hip that just abraded the skin, but only because the Valkyrie had managed to see it coming. It could have been a far, far worse injury.

With a spray of water and foam, Conni exits the water at almost the same speed that she got in. Propelled by two raven black wings, she clears the murky depths and hovers above the pool, her eyes scanning the depths and looking for Sylvi.

Just after Conni came to the surface, another figure broke free, but it was like she was shooting from a bow herself. Sylvi burst from the water with a powerful push using every limb she had available, from wings, to arms and legs, she surged up and broke to the sky dripping copious amounts of water and coughing. "Ga a knull morra de, Helvetes hore!!!" Her words weren't in English, which might be a good thing, but their meaning and the fact that she was cursing up a blue streak in Norwegian might be obvious as Sylvi spit into the water. "THERE IS THE FUCKING SHARK IN THE FUCKING WATER!" Shock caused her accent to be so thick her words even in English would have been unintelligable if Sylvi hadn't nearly been screaming them while she pointed at the fully illuminated pool, her gray-blue eyes wide as saucers as she maintained altitude with steady downthrusts of her wings.

After the sharks lost their winged prey, they turned in unison toward Joachim. The faster of the two was at him in almost no time at all, launching forward with powerful whips of her tail. Prina almost had him, too! Save for the fact that Joachim had himself an excellent line of sight on the impending fish of death. He managed to push her away just as she came up to him, overpowering her intentions with his own sturdy strength.

Joachim came back up to the surface, having managed to push aside the shark that had come for him. Glaring at it, he watched as Sylvi and Conni flew in the sky, grinning wickedly. His hand stretched out and he once again spoke in that ancient language. As Prina swam, a sudden force seemed to generate next to the shark, followed by an immense blast as gravitional forced blew her out of the water and on to land. As she flew through the air, Joachim called out, once again in english. "Sylvie! Connie! PULL!"

Iolana blink-blinks and skips away a bit, "The hell's that man? What'd you do? The hell's going on?" She minces on the edge, "Awww, hell no-not ever going swimming. Rick an surfer dude can just keep the water." She scowls, "JOACHIM! Get yo scrawny white ass outta that water!" she looks around for something...what? Who knows! she certainly doesn't seem to! She blinks and stares at Sylvie, "Does /everyone/ fucking sprout wings around here, What. The. Fuck?!" She paces and minces helplessly, "OOooh, Boy, you gonna /get it/ when you get back here!"

"I'm going to get some weaponry." Conni says, calling out to Sylvi, quite unable to hide the smirk at the language she is using. "You be safe now and I'll be back as soon as I can!" With this said and with two strong bats of her wings she is off and into the distance.

James' eyes widen when he sees what's going on in the water, and his hands come up again, but then Sylvi and Conni are out of the water, followed not too far away by Joachim. And the shark thing. So that's fun. He shifts, directing his body toward Joachim and his new friend, and murmurs something else. A bolt of what looks like glowing light -- if light was liquid -- shoots out of his hands toward it, aimed as far away from Joachim as he can while still hitting something useful on the attacker.

Heath took a couple of test swings with his branch before taking another drink of his Guinness. "I can already tell this is Eve's fault. Whenever she makes an excuse about not coming out..." The man paused as he watched one bikini clad angel after another come flying out of the water. "Okay. So it's sort of hot in that incestuous way, but that is exactly what forgiveness is for." The man stroked back over to hot spring with a branch over his shoulder, pausing to take another drink, it killed the rest and tossed it aside. Pointing the stick at the landed shark, Heath nodded. "I guess you're first." What follow was a primal scream as Heath went to town on the shark like a mad man, hammering the creature with a series of beatings without a swing wasted. Impaling the creature with stick, dark blood poured from the hole. "I--WAS--SUPPOSED--TO--BE--WATCHING--BIKINI--CLAD--FAUX--ANGELS!" In the end, there were a couple more stomps before Heath took a step back panting.

As Joachim was still in the water with the second shark, well, the second shark knew exactly where it's next snack would be coming from. It wasn't really all that far behind Prina, and Kane was then upon Joachim. He tried to give him a solid bite, but must have misjudged the distance due to the light show going on at the bottom of the pool, because while Joachim didn't quite move like a ninja under water, the shark moved like a lead weight and managed not to even scrape the man's skin with its hide.

Sylvi nodded to Conni as she took off "Godspeed!" She called after the other flying woman. Then Sylvi watched as a shark was tossed up out of the water like a fish onto the deck of a boat. She blinked, because the ray of light that burned into said fish was bright as hell, and then there was a howling, angry Heath beating at the land-locked fish with a sharp stick, a'la cave man. Glancing down at the still glowing water, Sylvi watched the second shark nearly grab Joachim with his jaws, and she let out a grunt of anger. "Oh no. You aren't getting a free meal, you CHUM FACE!" And then she dove down, swooping through the air like she was on the rails of her own roller coaster, and at her lowest point she just hooked her arms down beneath Joachim's armpits and literally hoisted him out of the water and up into the air with her, holding quite tightly. "Hey. You should maybe NOT be in the water. With the shark."

Prina, the shark on land, shifted slightly, as she oozed blackened blood from the multiple holes, some of them rather deep, that Heath had put into her. A disturbing, horrendous cracking sound was heard, and then it happened. From her sides, four limbs puched through the thickened skin of her hide. They were muscular, and angled a bit wrong to be anything human, or normal mamalian, but they did have joints that could be considered 'elbows' and there were clawed appendages at the end of all four limbs that could be hands. As the transformation happened and she pushed up to her new 'feet', the burned hole that James had been so kind to inflict on her literally closed in the matter of a couple blinks of the eye, healing entirely. Once she was up, Prina the LAND SHARK, rushed forward at Heath on legs that were tremendously fast, and then attacked him. It looked pretty gnarly, like she was going to flay flesh from bone, but she really only managed to scrape him up all over the torso as the fellow somehow kept sucking in his breath enough to avoid being filleted.

As Joachim was dragged into the air by Sylvi, he let out a loud laugh, grinning from ear to ear. Of couse he was. As they soared upward, his own wings flashed into existence, bursting from his back in a spray of tawny pinions! They flapped as he smiled brightly at Sylvi, giving her a wink. "Well thank you very much. I'll have to return the favor sometime. Best cover your eyes." He broke away, easily able to support himself in the air. He looked down just in time to spot Heath being mauled and swore. "Fuck!" He wasted no more time in english, once more switching to a long dead tongue. As he spoke, the air blistered in front of his face, and he opened his mouth wide, letting out a horrendous roar. The sky lit up as bright crimson plasma poured from his mouth in a beam, a burning line that cut straight throught he already wounded walking shark. The heat was intense, even for those who were untouched, the creatures large body vanishing in moments. All the remained was the fused and partially melted ground where the shark had stood. Joachim let out a hacking cough, drawing ragged breaths into his lungs. "God that hurts..."

Iolana blink-blink-blinks as a shark comes flying out of the water, mouth agape and eyes wide as a shark bursts out of tthe water and then there's...wait, wait, did the Brother just shoot lightening out of his hands. She should probably be running back, or doing something to help but she just stands there eyes wide and mouth open like a flycatcher. Yup. That's the look of a mortal mind blowing a fuse, suspect it's not the first time this crowd's seen that.

James looks poised to shoot some more lightning out of his hands, or whatever it is he's going to do, but Joachim gets there first. It's pretty clear that he's disposed of this particular (land) shark, and so instead he starts quickly toward where Heath is, and says something else unintelligible under his breath. A little shimmer appears then, a translucent wall between Heath and the other shark. "Can you move?" he asks of Heath, but he keeps an eye on the other potential attacker while he says it.

Heath panted heavily and waved off James' question, "I'm good... I'm still drunk, so I'm not feeling anything yet. I should probably drink more..." His eyes scanned the barrier, and his mouth curved into a wide grin. "We should probably test this right away." Coughing to clear his throat, Heath looked at the other land shark. "Hey Sea Biscuit! Just so you know, I'm going to curve off slice of your friend and hold steaks. I'm not really worried about the urine in the meat. Water sports isn't the end of the world."

As might be expected, the massive head of the shark still in the water came into view just after its fin, and it didn't stop moving as it reached the edge of the natural hot springs. No. Instead, it kept pushing forward, up onto the shelf-like rock embankment. While it did so, that nasty, horrific cracking sound could be heard as four limbs jutted free from its sides, creating 'arms' and 'legs' for this shark as well. It crawled the rest of the way onto land, murderous, soulless black eyes fixated on Heath as water bubbled out maliciously from the slits of its gills. Whipping forward, its own sandpapery skin rubbing against itself caused a strange, rough sound that could be translated to almost righteous fury. As it hit the magical barrier erected by James it slowed, then pushed, shattering the thing as it crossed through. Heath, by the grace of God, somehow managed to dodge to the side and get out of the way as the freight train of Land Shark Kane attempted to roll him over.

Sylvi managed a snort of a laugh as Joachim moved over on the aid of his own wings, then she flashed him a grin. "Nice feathers, always was a sucker for feathers." Of course, her attention was gathered down below as the shark broke through the shield that James had set up for Heath, and Sylvi's good nature left the building. She swooped down, planted her feet, and as the land shark came trucking past her, Sylvi pushed. Her muscles stood out under her tanned skin, bulging and powerful, and even with all that, the shark only fell over onto its side, but seemed ready to pick itself back up again in no time. Those four limbs were strong as all hell, and it didn't go over easily.

Joachim nodding at Sylvi, watching with concern as the second land shark began charging towards the already wounded Heath. Seeing the creature crash against an invisible barrier, he looked to James once more, interest on his face. He landed on the ground not far from the others, stretching out a hand as he watched Sylvi partially bring the creature down. Once more he spoke in Coptic, and the land shark staggered, crashing to the ground under it's own suddenly massive weight.

Iolana skitters back at all the shock and awe and are those LEGS?! IT crashes and she staggers back, tripping on the cooler Joachim had brought and she keeps scooting back on her as, eyes wide as she makes damned sure there's plenty of madness between herself and this madness.

When the barrier is broken, James shakes his head quickly. "Damnit!" This is not at all muttered, but it doesn't seem to have anything to do with whatever it is that's been spouting out of his hands. James grits his teeth then, holds out his hands toward the second shark, and pushes them out as he speaks again, as though the motion is going to help him with whatever it's going to do. And perhaps it does, since this time, the bolt of liquid light that explodes from them strikes the thing right in its head, sending a splatter of singed landshark chunks in all directions.

Heath just stood there as he was splattered with shark chucks. Sighing heavily, he pointed to the hot springs. "So... If I get eaten at this point, I accept my fate." Striding straight into the hot spring, Heath took a seat in the water and sighed happily. "I should enjoy it while it lasts, because there is no fucking way I swimming anywhere that doesn't have chlorine."

Sylvi had been standing on the ground, wings extended from her recent flight. So... When James performed the magical rendition of the Inside Out show, she was thoroughly splattered. Her ice blue bikini suddenly had chunks of fatty flesh and spray of creamy red across it, much as the rest of her did. Turning, she wiped off her face with a hand as a couple of bulbous chunks of meet clumped off of her wings, which then shuddered, sending additional spray everywhere that the shark exploding didn't cover. She stared at James for a moment, blinking. "I'd kiss you, but I feel like you aren't a fan of water sports like Santa is." She looked at Joachim then, and shook her head. "You know, I've never been so happy to know there are only two sharks in a hot spring before." Glancing at Iolana, she motioned to Joachim. "You're going to need to see to your friend. Do you have any pot? It might help." And with that, the Valkyrie's wings seemed to melt away, leaving just the statuesque, rather stacked blond covered in gore and a two piece to walk over to the backpack she had full of beer. Pulling out a full on armful of bottles, she made her way to the hot springs and set them on the edge before she stepped in, sinking down below the surface to get all the crap off of herself.

With the shark not-so-neatly dealt with, Joachim lowered the wing shielding him against the mess. Shaking them, he walked over, stopping to pat Heath on the shoulder. "Glad to see you aren't torn up to bits." His voice was quite hoarse and he walked carefully across the ground, trying to avoid burning chunks of everything... Smiling at James, he gave the man a much more appraising look this time, and a thumbs up. "That was some impressive work there friend. Thanks for stepping in." He laughed aloud at Sylvi's comment, nodding as he walked over to Iolana. "Never leave home without it. In the beige bag." He motioned to the bag near the edge of the hotspring, near where Sylvi had gotten in. He slowly crouched down near Iolana, his wings fading from view as Sylvi's had. "Hey... Ana... it's over. It's ok." He smiled at her. "And now you know why professor chuckles goes out and gets rip roaring drunk and high sometimes. Who wants to process this sober?" He rested a hand on her shoulder.

Iolana looks like she's still shell shocked. That is one dumbfounded look on her face and as Sylvi talks to her it's unclear if she even understands english at this point. Fortunately the big ass cooler she tripped on took most of the shark chunks but she's got a some mucus in her hair. She did tell Joachim she was a paramedic once though so at the suggestion Joachim's hurt and the clear presence of an actual wounded person she snaps out of it enough to sit up, "The FUCK is going ON?! You /jumped/ in the WATER?!" She lifts a hand, "Oooooh, you are gonna get it boo!" She exhales and stands making a face, "Ain't no time for it now tho. I need me some things. Like..anything clean towels, swiss knives or scissors.." she opens the cooler and fishes out a bottle of vodka, "Y'all making me waste my booze." She's shaking a bit but has a plan, "An a canteen or bottle water and a sewing kit if anyone got either." she sets her gaze on Heath and sets off that way.

The side effect of exploding a shark is that James gets a spray of shark guts on him, too. He at least closes his eyes, but it doesn't do much good. "Ugh." He reaches up to wipe a hand over his face, thought it doesn't do a whole lot except smear it everywhere. He shoots a little incredulous look at Heath when he goes back into the water -- even if it's not //the// water -- but he doesn't say anything. Instead, he lets out a chuckle. "Yeah, I think I'm good," he says, holding up a hand to Sylvi instead. "Not that I don't appreciate the offer." He turns away, looking like he's going to start right back down the way he came, though Joachim's words stop him. "I thought I was the only one here who //wasn't// your friend," he quips wryly, but it sounds like a joke. At least, mostly. "Glad everyone's okay." He smiles apologetically at Iolana, too, before adding, "Sorry about the mess." Then he turns away again, continuing back down the path. He's not about to get into any water that isn't a shower stall at this point, and maybe not even then.

Heath dipped under the water, scrubbing the bits and blood off of him. Standing, he stroke back out of water to get to his phone, thumbing the screen, and frowning a moment longer. "That's just fucking great." He slowly started getting his things together, getting a blue and red Hawaiian shirt to toss on. "Frankly, I think I was better with the sharks than the Lovecraft baby." He nodded slowly and buttoned his shirt as he slipped on his shoes. "I'm going to get lost in the woods, you all have a fantastic fucking day." He rose a hand to Iolana, "Bleeding, but it's all capillary, besides... I'm the fucking energizer bunny." He waggled his brows behind his sunglasses.
