Plot(s)

Plot:The Calf Eaters

The darkness of the woods was every so often broken up when the light of the stars overhead came down through the canopy, but for the most part the trees provided much in the way of inky shadows. Once one passed a bit deeper into the woods, however, they would likely discover the fire that had been set up, the scent of burning wood and leaves quite obvious from a bit away. It was deep enough in the woods that it wasn't obvious from outside of them, but not so deep that it would be hard at all to find.

Random people were drinking and dancing around the area of the bonfire, but no one seemed to be too worried for the firelight itself, it was more that it provided a good beacon for people to come together. A huge 5-gallon, metal drum was lined with a black trash bag and filled with heaven only knew how many types of alcohol, and fruit was floating in the mixed concoction. A giant ladle was used to fill bright, pink, plastic cups with the brightly colored jungle juice, and everyone seemed to be gleefully taking part in the 'Spodie Odie' party.

Parties and the woods? Lola is so there. And in the thick of it. Music or no, the green and purple haired woman is dancing around the fire. Because she has the music in her head and that's all she needs. That and the positive energy of people having a good time. Her tiger print sundress swirls around her, though her movements.. is she drunk? Because she seems a bit out of rhythm. Even a touch uncoordinated. And she doesn't seem the least bit embarrassed about it. Must be drunk.

Mila seemed to know about the party happening and had thus dragged Volya out with her, into the woods not too far from her condo, really. They'd arrived a bit ago, and in Mila's hand was a bright pink glass filled with jungle juice, which she was taking swallows of in between eating chunks of absolutely drunken pineapple and papaya. She'd dressed for fun, wearing a pair of jean shorts that fit low on her hips and a bright yellow tank top that read 'SURF'S UP, BITCH!' on the front in bleeding black lettering over a picture of one shadow beating another shadow over the head with a surf board. On Mila's feet were a pair of bright yellow, thong-style sandals that looked fairly flimsy. Her long hair was pulled back into a ponytail and braided to keep it out of her way and she looked happy, smiling in the firelight while she leaned against a tree trunk and chatted with people, or watched others dancing in the music coming from someone's speakered MP3 player.

Enola can and does show up anywhere from time to time. The woman walks out of the woods and towards the fire, who can resist a party? A slim expensive Dominican cigar dangles from her lips smoking fragrantly. She lifts her tophat and runs her hand over her bald paite before settling it into place again. She takes a few puffs on the cigar and heads towards the party.

Isaac wanders into view, the young man looking a little bleary eyed as he gazes over the party in progress. He's apparently just gotten up, although where he has been sleeping is best left to the imagination. He has bits of grass and some twigs in his hair but he has done his best to look otherwise presentable. He's in the process of shrugging into a dark coloured jacket, underneath that he's wearing a black t-shirt with the logo for some long forgotten band emblazoned across the chest. to go with the t-shirt, he has some cotton pants, more fit for jogging than hiking through the woods. He's wearing his usual combat boots, the laces roughly tied as if in a hurry. Just visible at his waist he has on a rather stiff belt that sits at an odd angle across his hips, various pouches and attachments weighing it down.

Blinking a few times as he finishes straightening his jacket, he looks at the party goers and grins as he spots a few familiar faces. Reaching into an inner pocket of his jacket, he pulls out a leather bound hip-flask and carefully unscrews the top, "when in Rome..." he says to himself before taking a sip. Knowing at least Volya, Mila and Lola, he offers them a cheery wave as he steps up to the fire.

Shawn makes his way towards the bonfire his hands stuffed into his board short pockets sporting a Quiksilver tank top and some flip flops as he looks around at the folks gathering around for the party, "'Lo everybody. How's the night going?"

Joachim hadn't planned on going deep into the woods tonight, instead having brought equipment for stargazing. However, the sound and light had caught his eye as he went past and, being a flexible sort of guy with shifting priorities, he had headed that way. Impromptu parties were often the best, and so it was that Joachim found himself bobbing along through the crowd, his dancing an loose, do what you want sort of thing. He wore a pair of jeans and boots, and a loose short sleeved shirt that flowed around him as he grooved. Spotting a few familiar faces, he weaved his way through the crowd, smiling here and there at students, a few interns from the observatory by one tree and hey Professor Tompkins doing a keg stand. Good on her. Headed for Mila and Volya, he stopped to let Lola dance by, giving her a wave as he did so. Enola's ghostly appearance out of the forest gave him a bit of a start, but he smiled widely on seeing her outfit, and offered a cheery wave to the stranger. He paused when he spotted Isaac, giving the man a nod of recognition and a friendly Aloha, and offering the same to the two ladies.

There was only so much convincing that Volya required to head out to party, less so when it was a party in the woods. The woman was sniffing at trees before planting a kiss on the trunks and skipping along to the next, the blankets on her wrists clicked and clattered with each step. She was clad in a ribbon-tied blue and white striped dress that came down to mid-thigh, as well as a pair of wellworn brown leather cowgirl boots. Blowing a raspberry to clear her lips on the bits of bark and dust, she shot a wide grin to Mila. "This isn't even my final form." Her fingers wiggled as some indication of thought happening before she waved to Lola. Volya skipped her way over to vat of jungle juice, staring at it like she was staring into a grave. "Is today a cheat day? There may be more regrets that just a hangover." Hopping back to her rastafarian shoulder bag, her dug out a pair of glass and stopped bottles, darting over to Mila to offer one to her. "Semi-sweet and don't make plans batch." She offered a cheerful 'Aloha!' to Joachim before popping open her mead and taking a drink.

The music changes to something with a fun beat, someone mixed in some Flogging Molly! And more people start to dance around, as if the backbeat gave them a little inspiration. The fire keeps burning brightly, and people keep refilling their drinks. It's a fun little gathering, and it's filled with smiles for those that join, upnods, welcome calls of 'BRAH!' or 'ALOHA!' at random moments. No one that comes into the firelight is left out of the gracious welcome.

Lola waves a hand here, smiles there. But she's too drawn into her dance to stop it for an instant. She loves this, it's clear. Yet she seems completely sober in every way but how poorly she dances at the moment. Suddenly she pauses, head cocking slightly. Slowly, her head turns in a certain direction, leading her to gaze intently past the fringes of the firelight and revelry, into the woods. Suddenly she ignores the dancing and revelry, drawing towards where she looks slowly. Approaching the edge of the gathering, but not leaving it.

Mila grinned widely at Volya, accepting the bottle of mead she handed over with one hand, her cup of jungle juice in the other. "It doesn't have to be a cheat day if you just drink the alcohol, right Vee?" She snickered and watched the woman kissing the trees hello, shaking her head and giving her a wink before she turned her attention to the impending form of Isaac. "Aloha Isaac! Good to see you tonight. It's a gorgeous night for a little party." Joachim and Shawn get a wide grin, and Mila raised her cup of punch to them. "Aloha brahs, come get some, it's really good. You might not remember your name tomorrow, though." She seemed to enjoy the dancing happening, and gave Enola a smile and a nod as she came closer "Aloha!" She greeted the new comer with a motion toward her top hat. "Great hat, does it come with a rabbit?" Amusement had lit her warm brown eyes a bit, as if the thought made her rather feel like giggling. When Lola stopped dancing and started walking toward the woods where the firelight didn't penetrate, Mila blinked and cocked her head a little. "Huh... weird. Birds?" She cleared her throat a bit and called out to Lola "Careful, Greenie! It might just be a bird getting a nest together or something!"

Enola laughs "No, comes with a boa." she says tipping her head a little to show the snakehead on her neck, the snake disapearing into her expensive tailed coat worn over her bikini and cutoffs. She taps ash off her cigar and puffs on it looking towards the sound "Mmm... bat maybe? Bats make a flapy noise at night." she observes and puffs on her slim cigar.

Isaac has headed over to the barrel that contains all the beer, making his way through the crowd carefully, offering a cheery 'aloha' here and there as he makes his way. Once comfortably situated, he gets himself a cold beer, popping the cap off with one of the gadgets from his belt. "Hey there Mila." He says, offering her a friendly smile. "I was actually out camping, so this is more of an accidental party for me, I won't turn it down though." He looks over as Volya gets physical with some of the trees, grinning as he calls out. "Oi! Watch out, that ones spoken for!" He raises an eyebrow as Mila cocks her head. "Birds? Tons of birds out here. Greenie?" He's not familiar with the name and so looks about to see what is going on. At hearing Enola's comment, he shakes his head. "I don't think I've seen any bats around or any other big birds. Boars and other small animals, a few of the smaller birds but nothing big really."

Joachim grinned and gave a wave to Shawn, calling his name out with an Aloha, laughing at Volya's description of the mead. He watched Lola walk off a bit, raising an eyebrow before he found himself being greeted with warmth and alcohol. Grinning, he nodded his appreciation to Mila. "Oh well... I walked into a tree on the way here, so I'm halfway there already. I'll make the rest of the trip your way Mila." He gave a nod to Isaac. "Aloha Isaac. I think I saw you once before, but you got out before the hornets got in." He pointed to Lola. "Greenie. I was actually a little focused on the music. It's probably just birds yeah." He grinned and looked over to Enola, still smiling cheerily. "I don't know you, but that outfit is definitely you." He laughed, and shook his head. "I haven't seen any big birds or bats... well I saw one bat... but you know what they say. Why do you never see elephants in trees?" He grinned. "Because they're so good at hiding."

Shawn is watching the fire and hears nothing... But he does manage to snag himself a beer as he watches the party... "Aloha Joachim! And birds? What about 'em?" He sips on his beer as he enjoys the music and dancing for now. "Why would an elephant be in a tree?" He doesn't really know anybody else so he's going to just drink his beer for now.

Volya took another drink from her mead, her eyes growing distant. Her head slowly tilted to the side as she tried to focus in on the sound. "Mila, honey. Do you recall any large birds of prey, bats in the area? I mean there's a fire, so we seem to be less in the way as easy..." Volya paused again, a giggle slipping out. "Okay, maybe most of us aren't easy, but I was thinking more in that predator and prey sense..." She paused again, this time it was a laugh, "Dude... There was no escape innuendo." Taking another drink of her mead as she listened to one person or another offer their opinions, she wiggled her fingers at Isaac, smiling all the while. "Sky diver making a terrible landing? Those are big and flap..." She broke out into giggles and shook her head, "No escape!" Taking another draw off her mead, she stared into the campfire. "So... I'm gonna go..." Gesturing vaguely, Volya started walking. Her grin reappeared at Joachim, "It must be the case."

Any idle wonderings about the noises coming from the woods might get themselves a moment of reprieve. A shrill, high pitched squeal came from the woods. Fluttering bird wings could be heard by everyone, really, as several took off from their safe harbors in their nests and took to the sky. And then... the pig was charging toward the moderate clearing around the bonfire. In its path, well... it just so happened to be anyone peering into the woods in the direction of the noises. It nearly skidded directly into Lola as it turned slightly, to avoid running directly at the fire, but the green-haired woman was able to avoid the sideswipe, and the pig was able to continue on its path. It's giant, loudly clomped, path.

"Wood and flapping," Lola murmurs, pausing near to the edge of the light's reach. "Maybe the trees are walking," she muses aloud, as if that could simply be a thing that would happen. Her body tenses a moment before all hell breaks loose. The woman diving to the side just shy of being slammed into by the runaway boar. She comes back up lithely, the young woman weaving a moment on her feet, a hint of red bleeding into her hair for a moment. "No, Sister. The bad girls aren't here," she murmurs to herself in her high, girly voice. A hint of petulant pout in her tone and expression. The hint of red fades for the moment as she reasserts her balance.

Mila grinned widely at Enola "I like it, nice ink, haole! Well done." She looked over at Isaac and winked. "Accidental parties are the best. I just heard about this one and decided I had to bring Volya out to enjoy it." She nodded toward Vee, then took a long drink out of her cup. She'd been about to say something else, likely to Joachim or maybe Shawn, before she nearly choked on her drink and stared at Volya. "VEE!" She started laughing, the sound surprised and highly amused. Until, of course, a giant ass pig started running out of the woods. Her eyes widened. "Is... no way. What the hell! PIG!" She called it out loudly as if no one might have seen it, then moved a bit closer to the tall tree she'd been leaning against. "Don't get in its way!"

From the woods, a tall, slightly shaken-looking man was running. His eyes were wide and he was sweating, and looked almost out of breath. When he got into the firelight, he was gasping, and stopped to lean against a tree. "Wait... Heffa! Come back girl!" He seemed to be following the pig... who, when called Heffa, one might notice the huge teets hanging from beneath her, looking like they were filling with milk.

Enola grins at the complement to her tattoos and puffs on her cigar and then suddenly pig! "Oh fuck me sideways... what the hell?" she dances back a few steps even tho she's in no danger of a pigging from where she's standing. Then there's a guy looking for a pig... "Your pig?" she shouts

"What a very sensible suggestion." Isaac nods and grins as he watches the pig enter the clearing, his look turning to bemusement as he sees the man running after the swine. "Did we interrupt date night?" Isaac asks, apparently feeling a little snarky this evening. Looking around, he tries to find a spot out of the pig's path, taking care to make sure he doesn't spill his beer in the process.

Joachim immediately backed up, nodding to Mila when she spoke. "Nope... not touching it." He called out across the pig. "Hey Lola! You alright?" When Henry came into sight, running after the porcine battering ram, Joachim let out a breath of relief. "Thank god it isn't them... that will be such an awkward conversation." He chuckled at Isaac, shaking his head with a grin.

Shawn blinks as he watches the pig run through the party and shakes his head, "Well that's pretty random." Then the man's chasing after it and Shawn points towards the direction the pig ran, "That way."

Volya glanced over her shoulder to Mila, "And it's great party! I was just goin--" Then the giant sow came crashing into the light, Volya tensed up. "Okay, less leeward side, so that's good." Volya's hand tightened into a fist, white-knuckling and leveled it at the pig. Her fingers opened as she hummed a note, the note became somewhat worried as the man came chasing after it, calling for it. "Alright, everyone back! Climb a tree if you have to..." She started clicking her tongue at the pig, trying to be the calm chewy center.

The pig was still terrified, obviously. The poor sow continued running, bee lining right toward Shawn. It looked like the big ole piggy freight train might end up taking the man out just above the knees, but Shawn was agile enough to escape any sort of knee-capping that might take place, and neither of the two were injured.

Lola shudders again, but seems to shake off whatever is happening to her. And someone shouts to climb a tree. And that seems sensible. Even fun. Lola smiles serenely as she turns to the nearest tree and climbs it. Pig or no pig, climbing trees is always a good idea.

Mila eyed the pig, wincing as it almost collided with Shawn. "GAH! Careful man! Get over here, by the tree!" She reached out a hand toward him like she'd pull him out of the frying pan onto the table top. Of course, that hand was filled with a bottle of mead, so it might look more like she was handing him a bludgeoning weapon or a drink, depending on who was looking.

Henry, the man catching his breath at the clearing, looked around himself wildly and shook his head. "Yeah.. she's my pig. She's so close to giving birth, she started going into labor.. and then she just freaked out and ran because this weird worm thing came near her. I can't get her to stop running away." His limbs were shaking hard, from massive exertion. "We've been running for at least a mile or two."

A flapping sound came then. Overhead. Something that might well remind people of what they'd been hearing earlier, only it was louder. Much louder. A dark shape moved through the light of the stars, with broad wings stretching out and flapping quite powerfully as it continued in a line across the clearing. It seemed to be heading right toward the Pig, but hadn't dropped down below the treeline.

Enola looks towards the treetops and tries to figure out what has the pig all riled up. The woman still holding her cigar even as she stands trying to evaluate pig and man and flappy noise.

It's all getting just a bit too weird for Isaac and he decides to sit down while he tries to figure everything out. Letting his legs fold under himself, he doesn't bother moving from where he was, his gaze flicking from the pig back to Henry and then back again, his eyes narrowing as he sips slowly from his beer. "I think she was running away from a worm alright..." Isaac says, nodding slowly and apparently missing the flapping overhead. "This is just so..."

Joachim raised an eyebrow at Henry, still staying down on the ground at the moment, though certainly near a handy tree. "Two miles? Damn man. How big was this worm thing that it freaked out your giant sized pig here?" He looked to it, then up to the sky at the sound of beating wings. "Maybe... a vulture?" He looked around for Mila to confirm the potential of large, large-pig eating birds. He shook his head. "I can't for the life of me figure out what might be spooking it. Not something that would make a noise like that." He snorted at Isaac then, trying to hold back laughter and failing. "Isaac... dude..."

Shawn dances off to the side to avoid the pig, "She's a bit upset to say the least. Those darn worms..." A pause, "But a few miles? Didn't you have 'er fenced in or in a pen or something?"

Volya looked up at the trees and the flapping noise continuing, "Uhhh, this isn't one of those things that get louder, the farther it is, right?" She winced, glancing back to Mila, "See, I was mostly paying attention, I was also reading about coral at the same time." Taking a deep breath, pink and purple highlights bled through her hair as dark green veins spidered through her skin. Holding out her hand, what looked like a miniature sun bloomed from nothing, and floated off the palm of her hand and up into the air.

The poor, pregnant swine was still going nuts, running around in circles, attempting to get a clear shot to the next bit of the forest to keep going, but people kept being in the way! This time, the pig quite nearly trampled Isaac into the ground, but the man had managed to avoid the porcine hooves despite his sitting down. Massive and terrorized, the poor sow continued another direction, causing random party-goers to scream and run from it, many people fleeing into the woods. Drunks tend not to make the best decisions, after all.

"Oooo.." Lola pauses, leaned back a bit against a branch, Out of reach of the ground, but not very high into the tree Peering up at the flapping thing. "You don't need legs when you can fly, I guess," she giggles, amused. She cups her hands before her mouth to better shout at it, "Are the trees walking?" Because flying up there, it would know, right? Is she drunk? Really, is she?

Mila had been trying to help Shawn, but the big surfer had obviously been able to dodge a raving mad swine. She leaned back against the tree she obviously favored, and looked up into the sky when the light bloomed from Volya. Her eyes opened wider, and her jaw dropped for a moment. "Uhhhh... ASWANG." She lifted the hand holding the bottle of mead and pointed her index finger up at the flapping creature. "That's an Aswang. It eats unborn babies... And... uh. It's legs are somewhere else, but we can't let her get back to them before sunrise! I bet the worm thing was her tongue, and she was trying to eat the babies out of the poor piggy!" Shock resounded through her words, and she looked around, as if she might find some handy ladder to climb up and slap the flying creature. "You leave the pig alone, hewa bitch!" Mila's voice was loud and angry, as she stared up at the flying creature, the pig's rampage mosly forgotten.

As the light came up from the floor of the forest, courtesy of Volya, it illuminated the creature that was flying around above the tops of the trees in the clearing. It had wide, fairly huge wings that looked like they should belong well to an enormous bat, but they were powerful and held aloft the rest of the creature without issue. Those wings, batlike as they may be, were attached to the upper half of a human woman. The whole torso from the bellybutton up, two arms, a long neck, and a woman's head and face with long, dark hair streaming down around her. Her mouth was filled with sharpened teeth and her fingers were tipped with long, blackened claws, but she looked very human indeed. Other than the fact that there was absolultely nothing below her belly button. She opened her mouth and made a nasty, hissing sound down at the clearing and the light, before she dodged back and started moving in the direction of the pig.

The appearance of the sunlight surprised many of the partygoers, but seeing what was flying around up above the trees put the final nail in the coffin for this particular soiree. When people saw the figure above them, they screamed, and most of them took off into the woods to leave the party mostly cleared out. Cups were dropped, and the fire was left burning.

Henry let out a horrified sound of disgust as he looked up at the flying half-woman, then made the mark of the cross at his chest. "HEFFA! Come here girl... Don't keep running baby, it's chasing you!" He tried to lunge after the swift pig, but her mass and enertia just had the sow moving away from him before he had a chance to get her. "Don't let her hurt my Heffa!"

Enola puts a finger and thumb into her mouth still holding her cigar in her other hand. She blows a peircing whistle. "HEY! Pappa say you be on the wrong sida the cross roads ugly!"

"Hey, not cool!" Isaac calls out after the swine which almost bowled him over. His look of outrage turns into a grin as he watches Volya work her magic. "Oh wow, that's awesome! Mmmm...now I'm getting flash backs!" Getting back on the emotional rollercoaster, he frown as Mila describes just what is flying above them. Glancing around quickly, he nods to himself as he notes the other party goers running away. "That actually seems quite sensible...oh well." Reaching to the side of his trousers, he quickly unfastens a zip that runs down the seam of his right leg and then carefully pulls out his pistol from it's holster. "It's going to get loud folks..." He says by way of warning as he leans back in his sitting position, splaying his legs out to keep himself stable. He lets off three quick shots, doing his best to gauge the speed of the Aswang as it heads over. "Going to need a bigger gun..."

Joachim watched in impressed surprise as Volya raised a hand and conjured light. By it, he saw the swine take a go at Isaac, nodding at the man as he managed to avoid the terrified pig's charge. Casting his eyes upwards, he spotted the horrifying creature floating in the air and just gaped. "THAT'S an Aswang? I heard they had freaky spider legs. That's just... urgh." As it took a swoop down at the pig Joachim gestured in with one hand, speaking in coptic as the air seemed to fold around the, her body growing heavier as she was drawn closer to the earth. He called out to the others. "I can try to bring her down!"

Volya's eyes never left the flying form on the aswang, but when people started screaming about sunlight and bats, the woman winced, "Sorry, sorry... Sorry..." She was jostled a bit by the fleeing people. Offering a nod to Mila as she explained, Volya took a deep breath. Isaac's gunfire helped with the emotional trigger and Volya's eyes flared with an emerald glow as she let out a loud scream. A warm Summery breeze picked up around her, picking up sparks from the fire, swirling and building until a softball sized ball of fire built and went streaking up to the Aswang, striking it and sending out a shower of sparks.

The poor pig was already freaked out, but with the sudden sunlight, the screaming, the running, the people suddenly having the scent of terrified animals, well. It just about lost it. It darted to the side, running directly into Enola and knocking the top-hatted woman to the ground like a bowling pin. The pig followed up the devestating tackle with a harsh squeal, and nearly ran into the tree just beyond the woman's legs.

Lola gasps n her high ,soft voice. "Oh, the poor babies!" And she seems honestly concerned. She then calls out, "Sister!" A moment later her head lolls back for a moment before it snaps up. Her hair bleeding into that telltale red and black. "Can it, Greenie," she huffs gruffly. Annoyed. Not just her hair has changed, but everything about how she carries herself, right down to her voice. "Lucky for you I ain't never smashed no AssWang before. One more for the list." She rolls to the side almost lazily, falling the short distance to the ground to land in a low, loose crouch. Her eyes cast about, she seems something discarded and leaps upon it with a certain avariciousness. "Come to mamma, babygirl," she rumbles to herself, rising up with a a heavy oar left abandoned. Someone must have been smacking coconuts with it, given how solidly built it is. She leans the heavy bludgeon against one shoulder, urning as she strokes the shaft with her other hand. "Time to make beautiful music, honey." A certain edge of casual bloodlust in her suddenly gruff voice.

Mila nodded to Joachim. "Get her down here, if you can. If anyone can. I can't fly or I'd be up there smacking her face off right now." The muscular woman's eyes were back up to the Aswang then, and she grinned dangerously as the Aswang was hit with not just a bullet, but also a freaking ball of fire. "Of course, that only matters if you guys don't kill it before it hits the ground. Verrrrry fucking nice." She stood with her legs shoulder width apart, then set her bottle of mead and cup of jungle juice down to the side of the tree behind her, so she didn't ruin the bottle or spill more alcohol all over the ground.

The Aswang looked down at the group of humans rushing around, then spun to the side as a bullet came into contact with her, causing a brief pain that made the creature hiss with the sound of angry, boiling water. The fireball that was thrown against her and sent sparks showering around her only made her his turn into a mighty, keening sound of pain. She narrowed her eyes, looked down at Volya, and in a voice that was remeniscent of shattered glass grating down a chalkboard, she spoke "I'll eat you from the inside out, but I'll wait til you're with child first, you foolish mortal!" Her threat didn't carry a single ounce of doubt in itself.

Henry looked positively shaken, and he stood there, staring dumbfounded by the fact that people were throwing magic around. He tried half heartedly to follow Heffa, but when she bowled over Enola, he just winced and started to weep. "Why would Akua allow this thing to happen? We are a good family." He sobbed and started moving toward his pig again. "Come Heffa. Come here girl. Soooooooueeee!" He called the word with the heart-broken tone of a man unsure about life.

Enola lays on the ground her bald head on display her silk tophat laying nearby, her cigar on the ground smoldering. "Lost my damn cigar." is followed by what is obviously swearing, but sounds like someone fell asleep listening to Roseta stone on shuffle, French Spanish Portugese even African curses roll out of the slim white woman's mouth "W ap kon joj!" she says shaking her fist at the skybound monster, rather than the pig it scared into knocking her over.

"Oi!" Isaac looks actually quite angry as he yells out to the Aswang, noting where it's attention is currently diverted. "Watch your mouth!" Sighting carefully along his pistol, he waits until the Aswang is on the outward curve of it's arc and about to head back in. Gritting his teeth, he takes a breath and then starts firing, ten shots ringing out in the night air as Isaac empties the gun's magazine in short, controlled bursts. He lets out a little cheer when he spots little plumes of blood arcing out from various wounds upon the creature, the young man then getting more serious as he brings the gun down to reload.

Joachim gave Mila a thumbs up, eyeing the hideous flying half woman. He paused. "Wait so if she never gets pregnant, you'll leave her alone? You know... in the modern day that really isn't that big of a deal..." He raised both hands this time, focusing on the Aswang. "Really, the party is down here though. Why don't you join us ya freaking psycho hose beast!" He clapped his hands and the space around the flying Aswang began to shift and warp severely. The sound of bone crunching could be heard as the gravity distortion grew stronger, wrapping the creature's wings tight to it's body and sending it plummeting down to the ground, it's own weight now far, far to great to stay aloft, or standing. "How's that dirt taste? Not as good as pig huh?"

Shawn has gotten over the fact that there's a flying demon thingy here and decides that it needs to be blasted away. So he makes a sign in the air and calls out 'Duin' and a blast of flames shoots towards the Aswang... and keeps on flying.

Volya's eyes went wide as the Aswang spoke to her and she went as pale as a ghost. The pistol barking several more times caused her to scream and cover her ears. She took a step towards retreat when the Aswang came crashing down to earth. Shaking her head in a wild panic, Volya broke into a sprint that was nowhere near the bonfire and more importantly nowhere near the downed Aswang.

It would seem that the huge swine had the same idea as Volya, and as the woman in light dress took off into the woods, the gigantic sow actually started after her, crashing through the brush. It likely didn't help Volya's panic in the slightest to have a giant pig running behind her into the darkness.

Lola steps forward as Joachim is grounding the flying torso, the oar laid over her shoulder casually. "Good job, maybe you're not so useless," she tells him, her free hand casually giving him a sharp slap on the backside. "Heh.. 'scuse me, work to do," she rumbles throatily. With the thing grounded, she ends the casualness and suddenly darts forward. The oar swung down into a ready posture, held firmly in both hands. Straight as an arrow is her focus and murder is in her eyes. How she moves betrays that she's in her element, the oar swung easily as she leaps at her target. A sharp, mad cackle rising in her throat. "Gotcha bitch!" The air is cut by a low, droning whoosh as she brings the oar down hard, aiming right for where shoulder and neck meet. A solid hit with the thickest, heaviest part of the oar. The hit is.. grievous. Even the sound, the wet slam of solid against flesh. Yet.. the flesh does not yield like it should. The wound seeming minor. At least, compared to how titanic her lead up was. For a moment Lola's eyes widen, buy then a broad, twisted grin comes. "Do that again, baby," she breathes harshly. "I like hitting you."

The threat to Volya had Mila pissed. Literally so pissed that she was bristling. Her skin took on a mottled, pale pink and orange discoloration as it raised in coral-like lumpy formations. A moment later, spikes bristled from her in long, vicious looking lines that started out a deep, angry crimson and faded to the darkest black at their very tips. The woman walked over toward the downed Aswang, baring her teeth as the oar hit her without doing seemingly any real damage. "Here... Let's try this T-ball style." And then Mila had ahold of the Aswang, who despite her writhings couldn't manage to even avoid the hold. Her arms wrapped around the front of the creature's shoulders, and she pressed the flying thing back against her own chest, pinning its wings and arms, and bending them back, so the Aswang was splayed. Her thighs then clenched to either side of the torso, holding it fast, while her spikes dug in deep to the creature's flesh. Leaning back, she left a nice, clear line of fire to the creature's head. "You don't get to eat anyone's babies, you nasty bitch." She grumbled at the Aswang while she held it, ready to be decapitated or further smashed by anyone who chose to do so.

The Aswang struggled, as much as she could, but she was held fast by the pincushion of a woman behind her, and might as well have been a butterfly nailed to a board for all the good it did her. "NOOOOOOOOO! Release ME!"

Henry took off after the fleeing pig and the fleeing Volya. "NO! Come back... dammit..." He sounded completely forlorn, but started on his quest to capture his pregnatn sow and bring her home.

There's a lot going on and Isaac is starting to struggle with keeping track, the hissing from the Aswang does get his attention, as does Vee running off at high speed. Finishing reloading his pistol, he slots it back in his holster and gets to his feet, stepping back in time to see the Aswang come to a crash landing in the clearing. "Oh, now that was nice work!" Nodding to Joachim, he turns to look at Vee as she continues to run, a frown forming on his face as he watches Mila grapple with the Aswang. She seems to have a good hold on the creature, the lack of legs possibly a disadvantage in this situation. He taps the holster at his leg and does consider drawing the weapon again but after some consideration, he leaves it alone. As the creature calls out it's protestations, another thought comes to him, his lips turning up in a snarl as he raises his hand, palm outward towards the creature. Specks of light dance in the air around Isaac, the smells of summer meadows and hot afternoons suddenly permeating the air. Bright eyed now, power burning within him, Isaac snarls at the creature. "Just fucking DIE!" Waves of heat spread out from Isaacs palm, the creature thrashing madly now as the young man threatens to microwave it unless it can break free. With a last grunting effort it does and Isaac has to snatch back his hand, being rather concerned about melting Mila by accident. His snarl is gone now though, even if he does look exhausted, a wide soppy smiles now showing on his face. "It was...beautiful.."

Joachim jumped as Lola went by, grinning. "You've seen me do this stuff before!" He grinned and watched as she took her swing, frowning as the aswang seemed to take much of it. "Wow what is she made of?" He cheered when Mila grabbed hold of the monster, though he swore as it broke free of her grip and evaded Isaac's assault. As it flew into the air, Joachim tracked it with narrowed eyes. "Oh I don't think so!" He spoke in a strange tongue, breathing in as the air was filled with the smell of ozone. A pair of tawny wings unfolded from his back, beating to keep him in steady position as he exhaled, sending out a beam of plasma that engulfed the creature, instantly turning flesh to ashen char.

Shawn shakes his head as he gets his wits back and focuses in on the Aswang again making a sign in the air with one hand he mutters "Duin" as he gestures towards the Aswang again releasing a blast of fire from his hand streaming towards the Aswang before it impacts the beast and ends up killing it. Then he looks around sheepishly as he realizes that everybody's likely to be staring at the surfer dude flinging fire around... "What was that?"

After hopping back after her heavy blow, tracking her target as multiple withering shots come in, waiting for her moment to leap back in and get some more. And yet it takes moments too long and the weakened creature is taken down by her companions of the moment. But instead of happy, she seems annoyed when it finally goes down. She pauses and shoulders the oar again. "Damn. You guys make that too easy," she huffs. "Could have at least let me try and knock it's head off." Yes, she's annoyed it's already dead.

Mila seemed entirely shocked when the Aswang managed to get out of her grip, and then slowly stood as the creature was repeatedly hit by blow after blow. Until Shawn's last bit of flame finally sucked the life from its lungs. She looked at Isaac and grinned slightly, which looked odd with all the spikes. "Mahalo for not cooking me, brah." Then she turned her gaze to the Aswang, walked over, and leapt up and down on the corpse repeatedly to break its bones and smear its cooked flesh all over the ground. One of the wings finally came separated from the body, and Mila threw her head back to catch a breath, looking around with rage still burning in her eyes. "If we could find its legs, I'd smash those to pieces too." She looked back down at where her bare, spike covered feet were covered in gore, and stepped off the corpse. Spitting on it, she followed up with a harsh statement in Hawaiian.

Volya had ran out of breath somewhere in her sprint and with things charging after her, she had nowhere near the headspace to process the 'what'. Whirling around, her eyes flaring their emerald glow as she gestured with her hands to close in the direction of the charging creature. Rooting, scrubs, small plants and ivy spread and grew at an insane pace to build a lattice work to snare. The charging sow let up a loud squeal as it was caught in the net. Panting, she waved her hands in the air. "Shhh. Shhh. Calm down, piggie. Your human is coming... Or I'm going to start a forest fire. Not sure. There will be tears."

Wobbling slightly and quite unable to remove the grin from his face, Isaac heads over to the barrel of beer that the party goers kindly left for them. "That was an Aswang? Mila knows what they're about...I think." Reaching into the barrel, Isaac pulls out three beers by their necks and then turns to look towards where he has camped. "I think I'm going to go and have a couple of beers. It's been fun people!" Looking over his shoulder, he grins and waves with his free hand to the others before heading off.

Joachim nodded, looking a bit tired but standing without any problems. He gave Shawn a thumbs up, watching with raised eyebrows as Mila crushed the now dead aswang into a bloody, burnt out pulp. The wings on his back flapped slightly, and he gave Isaac a wave. "Take care man! I'd love to have a chat sometime!" Smiling, he looked to Lola and Mila. "Well... that was a hell of a thing huh? This is an aswang? The one I heard about was different. Still just as disgusting though." He chuckled. "You two were goddamn everywhere on that thing." He went over to help himself to a beer as well, smiling at Shawn. "Pretty impressive man. I've seen that casting style before. It's cool." He saluted the man with his drink and took another pull.

Volya tried to control her breathing as she stared at the trapped pig. Dropping her hand slowly, the growths entangling the creature slowly receded allowing the approaching Henry to get to his animal to calm it. "Okay pig... You are like this big ball of hormones and pheromones... I get that you're in pain and running on directives, so I'm gonna..." She gesture away and slowly backed away from the pig to start wandering the woods and head back to the campfire.

Shawn glances over at Joachim and grins shrugging a bit, "Grew up learning it but haven't met any others outside of my family that could cast this way. I know there's more out there just haven't met 'em yet." He looks at the bloody mess that was the Aswag thing, "So what was that thing?"

"Don't care what it is, just how to kill it. Most things don't survive getting wrecked." Lola grins broadly. She plants the oar next to herself, eyeing it. "You lonely, baby? Don't worry, you can come home with me." Yeah, she's seducing the oar. And stroking it again. She hefts it and lays it across her shoulders, behind her neck, arms dangling over it casually. "Til the next throw down, bitches. Me and the lady need some time alone." With that said, she turns and wanders off into the woods. Towards no destination in particular.

Mila nodded to Isaac, her grin dangerous there for a moment. "Sounds like a plan, have one for me." She looked at Joachim, and as she did so, the spikes along her body started to recede, and the lumpy, rough texture of her skin started to slowly smooth back to its usual smooth, brown skin. "Mahalo, Joachim, you did great, too. Bringing it down that way was pretty fucking awesome." Lola got a look, Mila's eyes checking the oar she'd found. "Good find." To Shawn, Mila spoke quickly, with distaste. "Aswang. They came over from the Phillipines, they eat the babies out of a mother's womb in the night. You have to put a broom upside down in your house if you have someone pregnant, so their long tongue gets lost in the broom trying to find the woman's body. They're wicked bad. And not good things to have around, apparently not even good to have around pregnant pigs." Then she looked around to see if Volya was anywhere in sight. "I need to go find Vee. You guys be careful, and if you want you can throw the body into the fire. Or I'll do it when I get back." She nodded to those still there, and then started walking into the woods along the path that Volya and the following swine had created.
